Payments, Refunds & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: June 30, 2026

This Payments, Refunds & Cancellation Policy explains how payments, deposits, cancellations, and project delivery are handled by Strandline Digital.

Written Scope Required

All paid website design, development, redesign, landing page, and digital marketing setup projects begin with a written proposal, statement of work, service agreement, invoice, or other written confirmation.

The written scope explains the project deliverables, price, payment schedule, timeline, and approval process.

Deposits

Most projects require an initial deposit before work begins.

The deposit reserves project time and covers discovery, planning, project setup, design direction, development preparation, and early production work.

Work begins only after the required agreement is signed and the initial deposit is paid.

Payment Schedule

Most projects are billed in two parts:

  1. initial deposit before work begins;
  2. final payment before launch, delivery, transfer of files, or transfer of ownership.

Larger or more complex projects may use milestone payments.

Final Payment and Launch

Final payment is due after final approval and before launch, delivery, file transfer, account transfer, or transfer of ownership.

We are not required to launch a website, transfer final files, deliver final production access, or transfer ownership until the full project balance has been paid.

Refunds

Because website and digital services involve custom work, refunds depend on the project stage, work completed, and the terms of the signed service agreement.

Deposits are generally earned after work begins and may be non-refundable to the extent they cover discovery, planning, setup, reserved time, and work already performed.

Client Delays

Project timelines depend on timely client feedback, approvals, content, images, domain access, hosting access, and other required materials.

Delays caused by missing materials, missing access, delayed approvals, or client non-response may extend the project timeline.

Cancellation

A project may be canceled according to the terms of the service agreement.

If a project is canceled after work begins, the client may remain responsible for completed work, work in progress, approved milestones, and non-cancelable third-party costs.

Third-Party Fees

Domain registration, hosting, paid themes, premium plugins, stock images, fonts, advertising spend, SaaS tools, email tools, and other third-party costs are not included unless expressly stated in writing.

Payment Disputes

Clients are encouraged to contact us in writing before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback so we can attempt to resolve the issue directly.
